My Dad had 2 Beetles: 1 from the late 60s, and one from the early 70s. He loved them. Thought I’d join the VW party.
I’m rather tall (6’5″), and I had to move the seat up. This is the only car I’ve been in where I had to do that so I could reach the pedals.
I’ve never had a vehicle with turbo before. When in « sport mode », this thing flies off the line. When in « regular mode », the turbo seems to kick in when the RPMs are pretty high (don’t have an exact number to offer yet).
Anyways, this thing is fun, fast, practical, sexy, and gets great gas mileage. I hope she’ll last me many years.

VW Golf Gti is a small family car. The car manufactured by Volkswagen. VW Golf Gti started to manufacture and market this family of car since 1974. This family of car is called sixth generation cars. It has various body configurations and under various nameplates in different places. For example, it named as Volkswagen Rabbit in the United States and Canada and as the Volkswagen Carib in Mexico.
The first successful replacement of the air cooled Volkswagen Beetle was front wheel drive. Golf is Volkswagen’s best selling model. It is also world’s third best selling model. As it was the third best selling model the company manufactured 25 million of it by 2007.VW Golf Gti is mostly produced by 3 door hatchback style. Some other variants of it include 5 door hatches back.
These kinds were produced in 1993. The Golf is named from a German word for Gulf Stream.
Volkswagen presented the first generation Golf as front wheel drive, long range replacement for the Volkswagen Beetle in 1974. VW Golf Gti manufactured Golf Mk1 which was sold as the Volkswagen Rabbit in the United States and as Volkswagen Carib in Mexico. In September 1983 VW Golf Gti reduced the second generation MK2. It was slightly grown terms of wheel base. Their exterior and interior dimension was retaining. It was more rounded form. It was also as like as MK1’s overall look. The first Golf’s with four wheel drive which was called Golf synchrony went on sale with Synchrony four wheel drive system.
In 1989 supercharge G60 models ware exclusively released.
The third generation of VW Golf Gti released in 1991. It was again grown slightly in comparison to its previous version. The engines included the first Turbocharged direct injection Diesel engine. It also includes a narrow angle 2.8 L VR6 engine. The VR6 engine version helps to accelerated from 0-60 mph in 7.1 seconds. The fourth generation of VW Golf Gti was introduced in 1997. As of 2008 certain variants of this version were produced in Brazil, China and Mexico. Revised version of Mk4 was sold in Canada. It was marketed as the Golf City and Jetty City from 2007 to 2010. VW Golf Gti had needed several generations to make electric models. The electric model of VW Golf Gti is known as City Stormed. Top speed of VW Golf Gti is 120 kilometers per hour. It also produces twin drive system.
